Apologies if this has been talked well-nigh already....
I am seeing serious issues on iOS 11 (latest version) with WiFi download speeds. I besides saw this on previous iOS eleven versions. I accept gigabit Fios, has been tested numerous times on the wired connectedness with multiple devices and is running at the correct speed. iPads in the house pull about 500 down and 500 up....which is fine given all the potential issues WiFi tin have. My iPhone 10 all the same can upload in the 500 range but over and over pulls 100 or less down. This has been tested with a Fios Actiontec router, a latest version AirPort Farthermost, and a Synology 2600....all with up to appointment firmware. All were placed in the same spot, gear up independently, all with a defended connection from the ONT. I am confident it is the iPhone that is the trouble, I will exist testing tonight with another iPad and with an iPhone viii (all on iOS 11) and will written report what they evidence too.
Edit one: my iPhone 10 test were run earlier and subsequently resetting all network settings on iPhone

Y'all should be able to exercise at least this, if non faster.
Municipal 1g/1g cobweb. Ubiquiti gateway/AP's.
IPhone does run comparatively slow to ipads and laptops which run over 400 breaking 500. Merely its not concerning to me.

I am wondering if it is something wrong with my hardware, which is why I want to test the eight. Despite apple'southward lack of specifics on WiFi specs, it appears the 8 and the 10 both manage 2x2 MIMO, so theoretically they should run similar download speeds. (I am well aware a number of factors can touch on speed and they are different sets of hardware, merely looking for approximately similar performance).

Yous are testing your Internet access provider speed. If you desire to examination wifi throughput yous'll need an app like wifi sweetspots. This will examination just the connection of your phone to the router, non the bottleneck of the Isp.
Its too a good app for locating dead zones and finding better spots for router placement.
All-time I've seen my iPhone 6S go was 1.1Gb/s to an xfinity router of all things.

Thats outside the realm of physcial possibility. Sounds like an endorsement that the app is a hoax.

I recollect I got information technology, bellyaching I didn't retrieve of this sooner. My speed test app automatically picks the server to bounce the exam off of, only my calculator doesn't. All I needed to do was manually change the servers I tested against and after trying a few it turns out nearly of them are in the 500/500 range, whereas the one the the Speedtest automatically picked was still but 100 or less down. So it would appear that the issue wasn't my phone or iOS but rather the speed test app itself and the mode in which it chooses servers.
